Opportunities

The Theoretical and Computational Mechanics of Materials Group has Academic Year 2025/2026 openings for exceptionally qualified Ph.D. students interested in working with us. Domestic U.S. citizen Ph.D. students are particularly encouraged to speak with us about opportunities. The projects will involve combinations of theoretical developments, computational tool development, and conducting specialized experiments to probe the coupled thermo-mechanical response of metallic and metallic composite materials. Thesis research will be part of a strong team and large project effort with many opportunities to share work and collaborate with other colleagues. Highly qualified Ph.D. student applicants can select Prof. Bronkhorst as potential thesis advisor during the graduate application process.
